November 4th, 2017 It was a full day in the shop. With winter fast approaching, hunting season underway, the wants and needs are an absolute, it's all about comfort and warmth... and it will be like this for many months to come. Saturdays, are a give or take a day when it comes to interacting with clients, the walk - in's, will drop off necessities during their morning routines, before they head back home. This time of the year, with the schools being back in session, from elementary to the various colleges, weekends bring questions about upcoming events and holiday gifting. The undertaking of a season always will bring many surprises to my daily expectations, one just never knows whats around the corner. For example, since summer's end, requests for many of my specialty items have been entered into the books, from weighted blankets, redesigning and creating old favorites, like a favorite 2-piece suit, to re-upholstering a camper. With the changing of the seasons, it's always a for sure that new wardrobes will always need some kind of adjusting, from the corporate to the local farmers, they all hold a strong sense of distinction for what they want and like, which I always hold in my highest regards to see that their wishes are met. This past year, brought much change, in so many unexpected ways, that touched the momentum of my shops normal routine. Along with the work, there comes a strong connection and caring about, the people I meet. Learning, right from the beginning what their needs and wants bring a less and less of a formality, friendships are formed. This past year, I have lost 8 clients, due to sicknesses and to tragic accidents. Finding out the hard way, that when a community looses a loved one, time itself seems to stop for awhile...until the town's emotional movement starts to recover. Hearts are mending and the normal routines are finding their way back. The resilience of these wonderful people that I have come to know and admire over the years, who so vibrantly have touched my life, by just walking through my shop doors, it's been an honor working with you......I will forever remember all of you........ and thank you, because of you........ I have been Blessed.
